The Homer Simpson League
An open league for anyone in the area who wants a good time at Frogtown on a Tuesday morning. Also known as the Tuesday Leisure League. Most of the regulars are experienced curlers looking for extra games without another season-long commitment. No club membership required, no team required, and no obligation beyond the weeks you show up.

HOW A TUESDAY GOES
9:45 a.m. Donuts and beverages in the warm room, then players are randomly placed on teams for the morning’s pick-up games.
10:00 a.m. Games start. Depending on how many people turn up, you might play doubles, triples, or a standard four-person game.
Around noon. Off the ice and back to the warm room for conversation, card games, and more donuts.
WHY REGULARS KEEP COMING
There are no set teams and no set positions. Players are randomly placed on teams for a pick-up game every week, so you play with curlers from across the club and end up throwing positions you would never play on your regular team. Skips throw lead, leads call the house, and everyone gets better for it.
It is also the cheapest ice at Frogtown, with no roster to fill and nobody to let down if you miss a week.
NEWER CURLERS WELCOME TOO
If you have finished a Learn to Curl session, you will be fine here, and you will improve faster playing alongside people who have been at it for years. Never curled at all? Start with a Learn to Curl clinic and come find us after.

WHEN IT RUNS
Tuesday mornings from November 10, 2026 through March 24, 2027, with a few weeks off around Christmas and New Year's.
What to bring
Carry in a clean pair of rubber-soled shoes with good tread and change at the arena, so the ice stays clean. No boots with metal grommets, they scratch the ice. Dress in warm, flexible layers. The arena is not heated, though the warm room is. Jeans are usually too stiff. Everything else is provided.
