Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to this year's annual meeting on Tuesday. We hope everyone is excited for a great 2026-27 Frogtown curling year! If you weren't able to join us, here's a few key items to know:
Membership Update
Frogtown continues to grow. This year we have about 720 members, including 65 new members! While our regular leagues have very few openings for new teams, new members are joining existing teams, building up our Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning leagues, and subbing.
Financial Update
The club remains in an excellent financial position. We're building our cash reserves for big capital improvements, including replacing our ice plant and expanding our club space. Timelines for these projects are still TBD.
Volunteering Update
While our staff are incredible, Frogtown runs on volunteers. There are many ways to pitch in, some of which don't require much time at all. If you haven't volunteered before, make this the season you start. Some opportunities are listed in the October 22nd newsletter.
USA Curling Update
Frogtown is a club member of USA Curling and will continue to host weekday morning practice ice for the high-performance curling program. USA Curling actually pays us more in ice fees than we pay to be a member club. We're looking into hosting a national championship event sometime in the next few years.
