Welcome Week is about to begin!
Frogtown is excited to welcome new and returning members to Fall Clean Up, Fresh Frog Saturday for beginner curlers, Practice Ice, and the Annual Meeting on the calendar this week:
Fall Clean Up Thursday, 15th
Important as ever, Fall Clean Up will take place Thursday, October 15th from 6:30pm to 9pm. Come and be some of the first to admire everything the building crew completed over the summer, help spiff up some windows and wipe off the dust (then whatever else Jim tells you to do), then perhaps you can deliver a few stones and share a cold one with some of the other people who have been volunteering during the off season.
Fresh Frog Saturday, 17th
Big welcome to our many new members! We love folding in new people to Frogtown, and we want to help make the first weeks in leagues a big success for those new to our club or who are early in the sport and would like to review the basics.
- 2pm - 5pm: Learn to curl (bring your clean shoes) for curlers who are brand new to the sport, or who have played the game and would benefit from a refresh of fundamentals.
- 4pm - 6pm: Off ice guidance on curling fundamentals such as the Spirit of Curling, rules of the game, general etiquette, and Frogtown Club culture. (Joel will talk strategy, too, if you ask him!) All are welcome to this brush up!
- 6pm - 8pm: Learn to curl (bring your clean shoes) for curlers who are brand new to the sport, or who have played the game and would benefit from a refresh of fundamentals.
- Not a new curler, but invited one to play with you? If you would like to help with the Learn to Curl just let us know via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.!

Practice Ice Monday, 19th
Practice ice available from 1pm to 8pm for Frogtown Curling Club Members. Practice ice is not reservable, and you will be asked to share available sheets with other curlers as necessary.
- New to the game but couldn't make it Saturday for a learn to curl? Join us Monday after 4 for a member to show you the ropes less formally.
Annual Meeting Tuesday, 20th
What does it mean to be a member of a club? Every year members get an update on Frogtown Curling Club's current financial status and how operations have gone over the past year, as well as a glance forward. We also enjoy taking a moment to celebrate wins - and you'll hear about some both on and off the ice! New members also welcome!
- 5pm - 6pm: Bring your curling shoes for some practice ice!
- 6pm - 6:30pm: Members reception with pizza and light snacks.
- 6:30pm - 7:15pm: President Colleen O'Connor Toberman will host the 2026 Frogtown Annual Meeting.
- 7:15pm - UTC: BYOB social time.
... wait, we have Friday leagues starting the 16th, but are we going to do anything on Sunday, the 18th? Good question. It would be fun to have practice ice that day, but we'll play it by ear with the weather and early state of our ice. If we decide to have open ice on Sunday then the best place to find out will be our Discord!
